Dr. Wood hails from Gardendale, AL. He is a twice-graduate of Auburn University, holding a Bachelor of Science in Zoology and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.  After graduation, Dr. Wood practiced in the Atlanta area for one year before returning home to the Birmingham area. He owned a practice for nine years, doing everything from surgery and medicine to building maintenance. Afterwards, he practiced in the Florida panhandle for one year, doing shelter medicine and relief in general and emergency medicine. In addition to emergency medicine, his interests include internal medicine and endocrinology. During his free time, he enjoys golfing if the weather is appropriate and, if not, just sitting back and binge-watching cheesy sitcoms with his dogs.

He's excited to be back in sweet home Alabama and hopes that your pets never have an emergency.  But if they do, he looks forward to being there for both you and your pet to navigate the scary situations as they arise.
