These classes are designed to teach pet owners skills needed to deal with a pet in an emergency, including:

• The proper way to perform a head-to-tail-assessment of their pet

• How to check a pet’s vital signs and how to recognize normal readings and abnormal readings. Vital signs are useful in detecting or monitoring medical problems

• First aid techniques for various injuries and what protocols to follow for sudden illnesses

• Proper care for the most critical emergencies such as breathing and cardiac emergencies
