Our Story
Our practice was founded in 1994 when Dr. Sheri Fastenrath and other local veterinarians formed The Animal Emergency Clinic of North Alabama to provide much needed emergency care to pets in Huntsville and surrounding areas.
In 2024, we relocated to Madison to a brand new, state-of-the-art facility and became North Alabama Veterinary Emergency & Specialty, offering specialty services in addition to emergency care for pets.

We are a rapidly growing, 24-hour, AAHA-accredited hospital, consisting of 4 ER DVMs and a support team of 22 with 8 Licensed Veterinary Technicians.
